Clear Cache – Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari

Simple and easy way to clear cache, cookies and other browsing information:

Internet browsers like Chrome, IE, etc. will store some static content of webpages that you visit. This helps you load pages faster when you visit the page again.  The problem is when the site is updated. You won’t able to see the updated content sometimes. There will even be some functional conflicts due to cache. You can fix problems on many webpages/apps by clearing your browser’s cache. Read through to know a simple and easy step to delete your browser’s cache.

Press the key combination CTRL + SHIFT + DEL. It is that simple!

This is common to the browsers Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. Below are the steps on how to proceed further.

Clear Cache on Google Chrome:

  1. Pressing the key combination CTRL + SHIFT + DEL will open ‘clear browsing data’ dialog box in a new tab
  2. Choose what you want to clear and the time period from when it has to be cleared
  3. Click ‘Clear Browsing Data’ and it will be cleared.

Clear Cache on Internet Explorer IE

  1. Pressing the key combination CTRL + SHIFT + DEL will open ‘Delete Browsing History’ dialog box in the same tab
  2. Choose what you want to clear and the time period from when it has to be cleared
  3. ‘Temporary Internet Files’ mean the cache here
  4. Click ‘Delete’ and it will be done.

A more thorough procedure is to use Developer tools(This is optional):

  1. Press F12 to open ‘Developer Tools’
  2. CTRL + R to open ‘Clear Browser Cache’ Dialog
  3. Click ‘Yes’ to thoroughly clear IE’s cache.

Clear Cache on Firefox

  1. Pressing the key combination CTRL + SHIFT + DEL will open ‘Delete Browsing History’ dialog box in the same tab

  3. Press ALT + E to get ‘Details’

  5. Choose what you want to clear and the time range from when it has to be cleared
  6. Click ‘Clear Now’ and it will be cleared.
